Anna University Results
Semester results for affiliated colleges are published on the Controller of Examinations (COE) portal. You need your register number and date of birth.
Last checked against coe.annauniv.edu on 7 October 2026.
How to check your result
- Open coe.annauniv.edu (results are sometimes served from coe1.annauniv.edu).
- Go to the student login.
- Enter your 12-digit register number and date of birth, and fill the captcha.
- Open the results tab to see your grade in each course.
- Save a screenshot or PDF. The official grade sheet comes later through your college.
The site slows down on result day. If it does not load, try again after some time, or early in the morning.
What the grades mean
| Grade | Meaning | Grade points |
|---|---|---|
| O | Outstanding | 10 |
| A+ | Excellent | 9 |
| A | Very Good | 8 |
| B+ | Good | 7 |
| B | Average | 6 |
| C | Satisfactory | 5 |
| U | Re-appearance | 0 |
| SA | Shortage of attendance | – |
| W | Withdrawal from the exam | – |
Grading is relative, so there is no fixed mark range for each grade. U means you need to write the course again as an arrear.
After the result
- Work out your semester GPA with the GPA calculator (your department's courses and credits are filled in).
- Update your overall CGPA with the CGPA calculator, or convert it with CGPA to percentage.
- Think a paper was valued wrong? See photocopy and revaluation. The window opens soon after results and is short.
- Got a U? Your arrear exam is in the next session. Start with the previous year papers for that subject.
